About BattleTyping

BattleTyping is a free web service built to turn typing practice from a lonely chore into a game you play with others. There is nothing to install and no account to create. All you need is a browser.

What can you do here?

• Typing speed test: type proverbs, everyday sentences and fun facts to measure your WPM and accuracy, in 5, 10 or 20 sentence runs or 1- and 3-minute timed modes.
• Real-time typing battle: a multiplayer game for up to 8 players with four modes: Survival, Speed, Time Attack and Sentence Race.
• Practice with bots: play anytime against bots at 7 difficulty levels, from Intern (about 20 WPM) to Typing God (about 125 WPM).
• Keyboard tester: check that every key works and test for chatter and rollover limits. Mouse buttons and the wheel can be tested too.
• Typing guides: articles on typing faster, finger placement and how WPM is calculated.
• Your kind of screen: light and dark modes, Cyberpunk and Hacker themes, an on-screen keyboard and adjustable sound effects.
• Seven languages: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, German and French, each with its own sentences, words and speed units.

Ranks and themes

Results are shown as one of seven ranks, from Intern through Manager, Store Manager, Boss and Chairman up to Typing God. Pick the Cyberpunk or Hacker theme in settings and the rank names change to match. Bot levels follow the same ranks, so you can practice against a bot one step above you.

Your records and privacy

Typing test records and display settings are stored only in your browser and never sent to our server. Battle nicknames are kept in server memory only while a game is running and disappear when it ends. See the privacy policy for details.
